Losing a match to such a player will result in a small drop in your points and a small gain to your opponent. Upon the conclusion of a match, your ELO+ rating will be adjusted by the Matchmaker.īeating a player with significantly more ELO points will net you a large increase in your own points, and a large decrease in theirs. The Matchmaker makes use of the ELO+ system, using hidden skill rankings to match you against players of a similar skill. When you click “Search” to initiate a multiplayer game, the inbuilt Matchmaker swings into action. This is intentional and allows the game to calibrate your ELO+ rating, thus giving you opponents similar to that of your skill level from the 11th game on. You may find yourself matched with opponents much better or worse than yourself during your placement rounds. Your first 10 matches with every faction, in each game size (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4), with or without an arranged team, are considered placement matches.
